Situated on the edge of the hill country just outside of Christoval, Texas sits a 1918-acre high fenced turnkey game ranch.   • The ranch is located 27 miles from San Angelo, TX and 22 miles from Christoval, TX. The San Angelo Regional Airport is only 23 miles away. From San Angelo you would head south down HWY 277 towards Christoval, TX for 7 miles, then head east down Door Key Rd for 13 miles to De Wolf Rd. Its 2 miles down De Wolf to the entrance of the ranch. This ranch has a San Angelo Address but is in Christoval school district. The address for this property is 7500 De Wolf Rd San Angelo, TX 76904.

  • Along with all of the live oak that dot this acreage, it is also home to many other types of flora. Mesquite and juniper are plentiful and provide ample cover. Texas winter grass and side oat grama cover the ranch floor along with Algerita (desert holly), lotebush, and an occasional hackberry. Pecan Creek runs through the property from one end to the other for approximately 2 ½ miles but does not normally hold water. The elevation ranges from 2255 feet to 2415 feet at the top of the oak covered hills in the middle and south pastures. There are multiple look out points that have amazing views.
  • Currently there are 5 water wells on the property. One well does 90+ gallons per minute and is piped to a pump house with holding tank that feed the house and lodge. The other 4 wells are between 4 gallons per minute and 7 gallons per minute. There are 8 water troughs on the property with 2 of them being from a shared well with the neighbor (well is on his property). There is one large 1.8-acre pond that is currently filling and will be stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, hybrid crappie, and channel cat this fall. Last year a small tank (50’ in diameter) was built for dove and one of the trough is set to overflow into a small man made tank for dove as well.
  • In the Northwest Corner of the main pasture sits a 4000sqft lodge that has 5 bedrooms, 5 full baths and 2 half baths and a huge industrial kitchen, plus a very large mudroom and outdoor fire pit. About 100 yards away is a 2000sqft 3 bedroom and 2 bath house. A 25’x30’ skinning shed outfitted with an 8’x10’ walk-in cooler and skinning rack is set just off the main road to the lodge, and a large 80’x80’ barn is set back by the house and connected to it is a three-sided dirt floor shed that has been used to keep horses and store UTVs. Between the house and lodge is a series of old rustic barns that were previously used for storage. One of the barns has been used for weddings in the past. In between these barns are pen that have been used to raise sheep and keep horses.
  • The ranch has been ran as Breckland Ranch for the last 5 years and has been home to many different species of exotics over the years. Some of the exotic species will be removed prior to new ownership. The species that will stay include blackbuck antelope, axis deer, red sheep, hybrid ibex, and a few aoudad. All of these species reside in the north pasture. 10 bred does and 10 bred bucks were also released in the North pasture in 2018. The middle pasture has lots of native whitetail and axis deer, plus 10 bred does were released in 2019 as well. Not much commercial hunting has happened in the middle pasture as it was usually used for family and friends. The south pasture had 30 bred does and 12 trophy bucks released in 2016. 180”-220” are seen regularly and there are many good young deer. The ranch has been trapped for the last several years and a very large dent has been put in the racoon and skunk populations. The quail populations in this area are not great but there is good dove and turkey hunting, and the large pond has been bringing in many species of duck.
